'BLUE WATERS' – THE STORY OF OUR GHOST
We moved into the property known as 'Blue Waters' at the end of January 2001. The house is a large double story mansion built in 1947 and we were the 4th owners of the house since it had been built. The house has 3 levels – the ground level housing garages, cellar and a servant's flat, the first level housing all living spaces and the second level housing 4 bedrooms.
Within 2 weeks after moving into the house we had established that neither my husband nor myself enjoyed going into the garage and cellar or the servants flat. Going into the cellar invoked a feeling of discomfort and it always seemed very cold in temperature. One had to do what was required before quickly returning to the other floors of the house.
Another area associated with discomfort was the spare bedroom on the second floor. It also appeared very cold and unwelcoming. During the first month of inhabiting the house we hosted a weekend workshop in our house for a group of people exploring their ancestors, which was led by Deva Daricha.
On the Saturday night of the workshop our then 5 year old son woke up and started crying in a state of distress. When asked he explained that he had seen a white figure outside his bedroom door in the hallway of the second floor. He could not be persuaded that it had been a trick of the light or any other explainable phenomenon. He insisted that it had been a person.
On the Sunday we discussed this with Daricha who suggested we could clear the house of any energies, which might be residing in it. We agreed to this approach after discussing various case studies Daricha presented from his previous work in this area. The idea was that the house may have been housing various energies of people who had not been able to sever their link to the earth plane when dying. The energies may have been in or around the house, given that this area was a major travelling route along the Derwent River for both indigenous inhabitants and early colonial settlers.
Daricha, with the assistance of several people who were then studying with him, proceeded to clear the house from bottom to top on the Sunday afternoon.
Despite his earlier joke about not using 'smoke and mirrors' the team very quickly encountered entities in the basement and servants flat which were clearly indigenous and had been inhabiting the area for a very long time. It was decided to use the traditional method of smoking the house with sage as smoking is also used by indigenous peoples to clear energy and for other ceremonial purposes. The team proceeded on a methodic clearing of every room and found the areas we had felt to be uncomfortable to be particularly affected. They had not been told detail of our experiences.
When we moved through the hallway on the second floor the image of a white woman called Jennifer emerged from the process and as the burning sage was moved across the place where our son had seen the figure the security alarm of the house went off without explanation.
This happened again as the clearing process was being conducted. After the house was completed the team sat down with us and described the various energies and entities they had experienced. They contained indigenous inhabitants, colonial troops and the said Jennifer, who appeared not to have lived in the actual house but next door. After the clearing the house settled down after a week or two and our discomfort in the basement and upstairs bedroom disappeared. Although our son preferred to keep his bedroom door shut he never experienced a ghost again and nor did anyone else staying in the house.

OLD HOUSE BY THE RIVER
Twenty six years ago my husband and I bought an old house by the river in Hobart, it was run down and a bargain. We worked on it as a young couple, creating a nest for the family we so wanted. We renovated it thoroughly, I recall saying over and over, it just needs more light, bigger windows, white paint, no clutter etc.
I never felt at home or content in the house, it didn't feel welcoming. It looked great and felt sad. When our children came along we had huge trouble with sleeplessness and restlessness. Our first baby Ben couldn't settle and neither could I and when our second child also started having serious "night terrors" at around four years old I knew there was something really amiss. By this stage I had begun working with Daricha and Rachana and had expanded my understanding and awareness of energy.
I would go into my little girl's room and feel a chill, there was oppressive sadness in the air. Daricha offered to smoke and clear the house for us and I jumped at the opportunity, knowing it was the appropriate thing to do. It was a powerful experience, as he liberated an old aboriginal man lingering, as so many had, along our riverbank with no people to sing him through, I felt such relief.
As the young child who'd died of diphtheria and her mourning mother left the tears steamed down my face in recognition of the depth of sadness it is so easy to be "lost" in. I was also relieved to see off the old WW2 digger hanging out in my bathroom!
Our house then became our home, the children could relax and gradually they felt safe and their sleep was not interrupted. We are still in this house, we often have friends over and the best compliment is when friends with young children say, I love your house its so bright and warm and welcoming. We remain very grateful to Daricha for his skill, his ability and generosity to our family.
With love and light, Alison Miller
THE HOUSE BY THE OLD GOLDMINES
In October 2004 we purchased our first home and six weeks later had our first child. The house was built in 1970 and several families had lived in it before we moved in.
Our son slept in our room and we witnessed that he used to look into two particular corners of the room and cry hysterically. When we moved him into another room he was fine and settled. I also had the sense that I was being constantly watched from somebody outside the window on the balcony which made me feel very unsafe.
Sometimes I would see a figure walk past me and I would turn thinking it was my partner - however it wasn't. I also often felt a presence of somebody at the end of the corridor and didn't like to go into the bedroom near there. My partner also had dreams that were very "real to life" and experienced being strangled by somebody. The dreams were so real that he felt as though he had to use all his strength to push the "being" off him and often woke up very groggy like he had been drugged.
We had heard of Daricha's work clearing houses so we asked him to come and do ours.
Daricha cleared our home and also worked energetically with clearing the land that surrounded our home. We lived down the road from some old goldmines.
It took several hours for the clearing to happen which involved music, burning of gum leaves and other things that I was not present for as it felt better for me to leave the house with my young baby while this was happening. My partner stayed and worked with Daricha.
At the end of the session Daricha told us that there were many lost souls, particularly people who had been murdered or died near the mine shafts.
After the completion of the process our house felt full of light and had a lot more space - energetically. Our baby was a lot more settled within himself and I no longer felt frightened to be in the house on my own. I also felt that we could really claim our home and things have continued to flourish since then till now. I feel very happy and trusting of Daricha's work and would highly recommend this service to anyone.

TRAUMATIZED NEW HOME
In 2003 I moved from the country into Melbourne with my husband and two children, aged 10 months and 3 years. We moved primarily for my husband's work, and as such we were asked to move quickly. We settled on a house in Eltham, a suburb known for its leafy surrounds and bushy feel. We were renting from the owners of the house, who had lived in it up until the time we moved in. They had two boys as well...
Things soon began to occur in the house which I couldn't explain... looking back I suppose it is quite a list, although at the time it took ages for me to string the events together into some perspective.
Items such as framed photos, books, papers, etc would literally propel themselves off of shelves. This usually occurred when I was in the room, so there could be no mistaking it as 'the breeze' or the children's antics
Speaking of the children, my son - then 3yrs old - was terrified, I mean to an hysterical point, of being in the hallway.
It didn't matter if the light was on.
It didn't matter if a grown-up was with him.
When asked about this, he said that there were 'ghosts'. And might I say his parents did not believe in them either.
Now let me explain. We had just moved from a 20 acre solar powered farm. This child was not accustomed to TV or the like, and I was quite shocked that he even knew the word.
Well, some weeks later, this turned in to episodes of him staring into space in a sort of trance - often toward the wall where the items were fond of propelling themselves off shelves. I excused this for awhile as normal Aquarian dreaminess, but when he started describing the 'beautiful white swirling circle', I got a bit freaked.
Also, at about this time, my daughter went from playing in the park to 30 minutes later being unconscious in my arms, being rushed to the Royal Children's Hospital with suspected meningitis. Her brain was swollen.
It wasn't meningitis. She recovered slowly, but the doctors have yet to find an explanation.
In my mother's heart, I felt she was being affected by whatever energies were at play 'behind the scenes' of our house.
I rang Daricha and requested a house clearing.
That in itself was eventful. I remember realising during it that every time I stood in one part of the kitchen I could literally feel my stomach dropping out, like when you drive over a hill too quickly.
During the smoking portion of the "house clearing" I felt lines of beings literally walk out the door. I learned that often what attracts these disembodied beings is the trauma that has occurred in a place.
Could it be that something had occurred here?
It had initially seemed like a quiet 3 bedroom family home to me.
Afterwards the difference was palpable.
-The children were relaxed in their beings again.
-There was no more talk of beautiful lights or scary passageways.
-And interestingly, one day I had a telling conversation with the owner, as he came to handle some maintainence. I gently inquired about the history of the place and why his family had come to move. He replied that there was quite a story to how he came to own the house. A woman had lived there who had 2 young children and was quite heavily into heroin. She had fled the country and literally walked out of the house and dropped her kids on the doorstep of the grandmother. The grandmother happened to be his neighbor at the time. The house was then reposessed by the bank and sold quickly, so he got a great deal.
-Only the house came with some fairly unusual chattels. And why did they move?? Seems his boys hated that house, and always screamed about the passageway... hmmmmm.

A COLD SPOT IN THE PASSAGEWAY
In 1981 I was living in a terrace house in Fitzroy North, in inner city Melbourne.
When my children came to stay for weekends, they would sleep in the front bedroom, and needed to walk along the passageway to go to the toilet at night. Each of them spoke about how the passage was "scary", and at nights they would run through it, but I didn't think anymore about it.
At that time I had started to conduct Breathwork groups, using the Holonomic style taught by Stan Grof, and with friends would conduct groups 2 evenings a week.
One morning after a session the previous evening, a friend who was highly psychic telephoned to reveal that the previous night she had dreamt that a woman had been killed in the passageway, and her presence was still attached to the house.
For 6 years I had been studying Esoteric Yoga under the guidance of Margrit Segesman, the first yogi to teach in Australia, at her school, the Gita school of Yoga, and I started to consider the information from the perspective that I had encountered in my studies.
My housemates and I walked slowly along the passageway, and their certainly was a spot that felt "weird".
The feeling could be felt in our bodies and was associated with a chill, where we seemed to lose a small amount of our body temperature. The "chill factor" could be located quite precisely, and seemed to go for about 2 metres and then we would be through it, and the rest of the passage felt "normal".
From the yogic perspective I had been studying, I assumed that this could be where "memory traces" of the departed woman was. Some researchers would claim that the soul or spirit of the woman was still attached to the house, in particular the spot where her body died.
We decided to perform a process of release for the dead woman to see if that made a difference.
Although we had not received specific training in that area we worked upon the following assumptions;
1.Memory traces of the murdered woman still existed in the passageway.
2. The dead person did not know she was dead, or was frightened or lost and unable to let go to the next stage of completion of the dying process.
3. A compassionate process of release might help the being and also make a difference to the feel of the passage.
We decided to place a stereo speaker at each end of the cold spot and played one of Bach's Requiems, while meditating and imagining a column of light coming down to the affected area. At the same time with our thoughts we encouraged the being to travel along the column of light and be absorbed into the light at the end of the column and to transit into the next stage of whatever awaited her.
This was a quite beautiful and moving experience and we all felt that it had made a difference.
Three interesting things happened after this process.
1. The cold spot disappeared fro the passageway, and the passage no longer felt weird.
2.We didn't tell the children what we had done, but they stopped running through the passage at night.
3.Within a couple of days we received a visit from an apologetic neighbour, who explained that there had been a murder in the house, that a woman had been killed in the corridor, and the killer had never been found, but was assumed to be part of underworld activities.
This was the first time I had been involved in such an exploration and the significant outcomes and changes we achieved encouraged me to look further into this area.

THE INCONSOLABLE BABY
A number of years ago I returned home from interstate to find that there was great consternation in the family of close friends. At that time one of their daughters, her partner and their infant daughter were living with them.
Sometimes the baby would burst into deep crying and be inconsolable for a long while.
A couple of very experienced healthcare practitioners had been consulted, to no avail, and everyone was concerned because their grand daughter was deeply distressed when these events came upon her.
This pattern continued with no apparent solution.
I was with them one day, when the baby was settled, and she looked past me and suddenly began screaming.
I guessed that she was seeing spirits as babies and children sometimes do, and suggested that we "cleanse" the area where they were living, which was away from the main house.
When I visited that area I sensed that it needed to be "smoked", using eucalyptus leaves which is an indigenous practice designed to release troublesome or dead energies.
After the smoking I played some appropriate music that over the years I have found very effective in inviting beings to travel to the next plane of existence. At that time I opened a column of light for any beings who needed to be released to travel through.
To my surprise, the first being was a neighbour who had recently died, followed by a adolescent indigenous male, with ceremonial paint on his body. Just as I was about to close the vortex, I felt another being approaching. It was a 26 year old male who had died in a car crash over in the next valley.
He was very eager to go.
I finished up, and left, wondering what the outcomes would be.
The episodes ceased, and the baby had no further episodes of deep distress.

'CAN A HOUSE BE SICK?
A couple of months ago I received a call from a young woman who had been perusing our website, and thought we might be able to help.
She was in her early 20’s and had moved 6 weeks previously into a new house with her parents, and 2 siblings.
She had not seen the house before it was purchased; it was about 20 years old, on more than an acre of land, beautifully landscaped, with tennis court, large spa, all the modern conveniences one could want and lots of space.
The trouble was that she hadn’t felt good in the house since she moved in, she would feel ill when she went to the garage, it felt cold and eerie to her.
Her sense was that there was “stuck energy” in the house, and the house felt “heavy” on everyone.
She had reached the stage of avoiding being home, and when she was home spent much time in her room.
One time her step mother had felt something behind her, and a light switched off when she was talking.
Her father and step mother had turned a former living room into a bedroom, but hadn’t slept well since they moved into the house. Family members often felt tired, and lacked energy.
I agreed to go to the dwelling and to conduct a survey, and give a report on what I could sense.
Many people are sensitive to energies in buildings and are effected by them.
For over 30 years I have trained myself to be sensitive to these types of subtle energies and to be able to “read” them. It’s now a little like having an inbuilt radar, as all of us do, but the training and practice has enabled me to fine-tune and read energetic patterns in houses and workplaces.
The garage was certainly as the lass described, chilling, more than just cold, and “weird” was an appropriate term for my experience of it.
Various parts of the house had strong sensations embedded from past experiences that had occurred in various rooms.
When I walked into the new master bedroom, I had an image of a woman held against the doorjamb with a hand around her throat. When I mentioned this to ( let’s call her Melanie), she exclaimed in amazement that that was precisely what she had experienced previously upon entering the room, but she thought “she was going crazy.”
Standing at the sink, a strong sense of depression would emerge in my awareness, as if a former resident used to stand in that spot, look out of the window and worry about what had happened in her life.
In an area on the path outside the back door I experienced the sensation of a person having had a stroke and falling to the path, the memory of the experience having become embedded in the landscape itself.
The entry door was black and quite forbidding, it need a blessing placed upon it to change the quality of the entrance.
And so it went, various memories strongly embedded in certain areas, with some indigenous memories lingering in parts of the property.
Melanie took a keen interest in the various phenomena I reported, and eventually I conducted a process of “spirit release and cleansing” throughout the house, and took my leave.
A couple of weeks later I gave a call to see what the outcome was, and this was the reply that came by email.
I have permission to reprint it our website.
Hello Deva,
I trust you are well. J
Sorry I missed your call. I just checked my voicemail while at work and was pleased to hear your voice.
I would like to thank you for the house clearing and spirit release performed last week.
It has helped my family and I in more ways than I could have imagined.
The house itself is glowing and it feels amazing each time I go through the doors and hallways.
Dad and my step mother went out and bought paint stripper to lighten that dark black front door too.
It feels as if a weight has been lifted off the house and all of us in it.
There is more harmony among family members and we all have more energy to spend time together when in the home.
Dad and my step mother are sleeping better and there are no more lingering or eerie feelings in any of the rooms or in the garage.
It gave me confidence in where I am headed also and great pride in knowing I was able to assist you in helping the many lost souls to finally be at peace and cross into the light.
You have done a truly amazing thing and we will be forever grateful, especially myself.
Thank you dearly.
So it seems that not only can a house be sick, but that it can also be healed as well. Deva Daricha
The Recording Studio
It is possible to change the 'feel' of a workplace, and make it more appealing to both staff and clients. Staff productivity can improve and customers and clients enjoy the space more.
"Just wanted to let you know how things were at the studio after your visit.
Before you cleared the place it was a place that I didn't like being in on my own. I found that once everyone else had left the building I didn't like hanging around for much longer on my own. I would be happy to end my day at 4.30 or 5pm if no one else was there, as, its hard to explain, but I didn't feel comfortable. I also had a couple of young female musicians involved in one of our music mentor programs that didn't like spending time in the studio because they felt it was 'dingy'.
Since your visit the studio feels calm and still and I feel very comfortable there and there has been much activity - recording and workshops. I find that I now have to drag myself out of there after a days work at 6 or 7pm, sometimes later. In the past couple of weeks I have had people regularly commenting on how the place has a great feel about it and how they feel very comfortable there.
I am amazed at how many people have actually said these words since you visited. I had a woman visit from Sydney and after spending an hour in the studio decided to come back next year to record her CD. Her words were that she felt comfortable and she felt that she would be well supported in this space. She is an Aboriginal woman and after her comments I told her that you had recently smoked and cleared the studio and she was happy to hear that and said that it made a lot of sense to her.
Anyway, that's the most of it so far. Thanks again and I look forward to catching up soon."
