Men, Breath & Spirit

An exploration of non-ordinary states of consciousness - a series of breathwork weekends for men.

Breath connects us to life, and holds many secrets. This is well known by countless Yogis, martial artists and Shamans who have collectively spent 1000s of years exploring non-ordinary states of consciousness (NOSC).

These weekend events are designed to enable participants to explore NOSC for themselves, under the guidance of Deva Daricha who has spent over 30 years exploring breathwork, and the states of consciousness that can be accessed.

Not for the faint-hearted - among the processes, we will use the "Holotropic Breath", the "Death Breath", and the "Breath Marathon" - a 3.5 hour process that turbo-charges the breath and sends consciousness into altered states.

Men can often bring out the best in each other. In an atmosphere of co-operative challenge, strength, compassion, and courageous exploration, we can go beyond our past limits into the mystery of the unknown - the unvisited and uninhabited parts of ourselves. In acknowledging and supporting the explorer in each other we can come to dwell in deeper parts of our being.

Come and join us. Bring a willing heart, a courageous attitude, and a desire to deepen.

This course begins on the Saturday at 9am and ends on the Sunday at 5pm. Cost is $375.

The program is conducted by Deva Daricha the director of the Centre for Human Transformation.

Tim: "Men, Breath and Spirit is much more than a weekend of breathwork. This is a weekend of discovery, learning, insight, reflection, challenge and humour. Daricha provides a safe and supportive environment for men to explore and push past their limits, and his insight and knowledge is amazing. Of course, the breathwork itself is beyond explanation, and is highly recommended. Thanks Daricha. Thanks again!"

Ian: "I attended the Men, Breath & Spirit weekend in November 2008. Having previously visited the Center for work and study several times I had no doubt but that this would be a great weekend. It exceeded my expectations.
Since it rained almost all of the weekend we spent most of our time in the Shiva Temple. Daricha talked with us about the qualities and strengths of a man that are so often overlooked (or even unheard of) in mainstream Western 'culture'. This alone was like a breath (no pun intended) of fresh air. Daricha also introduced us to the power of Breathwork and gave a fascinating overview of how and why it can work so well in releasing trauma patterns and conditioned behaviors that restrict the personality.
We also were trained in two very powerful Breathwork patterns that allowed us to experience first hand the potency of this modality. Those of us with more experience of Breathwork were able to experience powerful altered states of consciousness. I literally felt patterns of tension in my body begin to melt away.
One great benefit was simply to spend time with 'brothers', with men following the path of self-discovery in a way that was most definitely not that of the New Age wimp. My own fear of the masculine that has stemmed from severe bullying and bashing at school, and my father's mental illness, was significantly healed by this weekend's experiences. I cannot recommend this program highly enough to any man wishing to find the truth of who and how he is in the world."
